For over the past decade, learning about wellbeing has been important to me. Initially I dug into the subject because of necessity. For a while, I wasn’t taking care of myself. Instead, I prioritized taking care of others and advancing my career. And then I crashed and became sick.
As I slowly began to weave in positive habits, I became better. And surprisingly I became a partner, mother, coach, friend, sister, and daughter. It made me understand how self-care is healthcare.
Last year, I became certified in nutrition. I wanted to expand my knowledge on wellness. As a nutrition coach, I’ve had the opportunity to support many individuals in their journey from sickness to wellness.
Although it takes time, the compound effect of adding more whole foods is significant. And as a result, it’s impacted their energy levels, mood, confidence, wellbeing.
As you know, working as an educator is physically and emotionally draining. And maybe like me, you’ve struggled with putting off your needs to serve others. This approach can only sustain us so far.
So, I invite you to consider where you can add more positive fuel in your day through what you eat. For example, adding vegetable (s) or a fruit to your lunch, drinking more water, eating protein for lunch or putting a timer on as reminder to eat. Remember, baby steps eventually become giant leaps.

With all my love,
Alex
